Rajma-Red Kidney Beans in Wholesome Sauce

1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon whole cumin
½ red onion, chopped
1 8 oz fire roasted tomatoes
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon salt
½ cup cilantro, chopped

Heat oil in a pan and add whole cumin to sizzle. Add chopped onions. When onions turn golden brown, add kidney beans, fire roasted tomatoes and all ground spices. Sprinkle chopped cilantro. Leave it to cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes Serve with basmati rice or naan.
